The Group Sales Manager, reporting to the Director of Sales, is responsible for the leadership of Regional Sales Managers in the implementation of company sales and marketing programs to meet direct and indirect sales and EBITDA goals within assigned territory/channel/business unit. Key accountabilities include:
- Leads assigned sales teams across assigned channels such as Industrial, Hardware, Farm, and Automotive Wholesalers to achieve sales and profit goals (EBITDA) by developing and implementing appropriate plans, programs, promotions and pricing.
- Plays an active role in the ongoing development of people and proactively uses know-how and a broad leadership acumen in the identification and resolution of performance issues. This includes hiring, training and developing.
- Collaborates with external partners to gain alignment and engagement on quarter, annual and multi-year plans.
- Develops account specific programs in concert with Sales Director, Field Sales and third-party agents such as IMRs, distributors, etc., ensuring they deliver on projects, contribution targets and incremental EBITDA.
- Directs independent broker/IMR or reseller agency service provider activities, goals, plans, etc. to achieve maximum potential sales volume against goal. Champions category management programs and initiatives with all internal and external partners.
- Contributes to 12 to 18 month digital activity planning and forecasting, by customer and/or channel. Provides annual/customer/promotion budget recommendations, activates, tracks and reports.
- Collaborates with management team on strategic direction, leadership and planning for risk management function. Provides accurate sales guidance to appropriate stakeholders (team, direct, 3rd party sales agents.
- Manage overall trade budget to projected levels in line with % of sales targets. Responsible for accurate and timely forecasting.

- Accountable for looking ahead and providing the guidance, direction and vision for supporting long-term company objectives, appropriate for the role.
- Perform other related activities as needed to support corporate objectives. Act in the best interest of the company by applying stated company values/code of conduct and acting in congruence to company strategies and priorities.
What You’ll Bring To The Role
What You’ll Bring to the Role
- 5+ years sales management experience in related sales channels
- 3+ years responsibility for brand sales to assigned trade channels
- Demonstrated history of promotion and increasing responsibility culminating in leading sales efforts with retailers (omni-channel)
- Demonstrated ability of achieving stretch sales/growth targets
- Experience successfully selling new products or line extensions
- Successful strategic planning and tactical execution across multiple trade channels
- Experience with P&L ownership
- Bachelor’s in Business with emphasis in Sales/Marketing preferred, MBA highly desirable
